Olena Hantsyak-Kaskiv

The founder and head of the organisation “Dignity Space”, Ukrainian Centre for Nonviolent Communication and Reconciliation. Education: Political Scientist (BA degree in the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”) and MA of Business Administration (MBA, IMI). She worked in the leading positions in the field of direct foreign investments attraction into Ukrainian economy.

Since 2014, she’s been working as a director in the public sector, advocating for sustainable peace-building processes and working in the field of social communications.

After the violent events of Euromaidan, at the beginning of the armed conflict in the Eastern Ukraine, together with her husband Carl Plesner (a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and international expert in the field of peacemaking) she founded the Ukrainian Centre for Nonviolent Communication and Reconciliation “Dignity Space” and co-founded a peace programme of Peace Engineering.

Olena is a partner and a regional manager for the project “Dialogue for Conflict Resolution” in Ukraine, which is being carried out by the Ukrainian Centre for Nonviolent Communication and Reconciliation “Dignity Space” during 2019–2022 in partnership with PAX Netherlands (Fund Peace Movement PAX) with financial support of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany (Auswärtiges Amt).

She gives professional advice to public organisations and government agencies on communications for peace-building.
